Brussels Vocal Project is a collective of three singers, Elsa Grégoire, Anu Junnonen and François Vaiana. They create projects which focuses on original vocal music. They aim to expand the vocal possibilities through collaborations with different singers, instrumentalists and composers.
Their first project “The Art Of Love” is an A Cappella tribute to the great Belgian guitarist Pierre Van Dormael. The repertoire was written for six vocalists by leading Belgian jazz composers such as Fabrizio Cassol, Nathalie Loriers and Diederik Wissels.
They are now collaborating with the American drummer and composer John Hollenbeck on material written exclusively for five voices and a drum set. John Hollenbeck and Brussels Vocal Project want to revisit this ancient orchestration through compositions based on modernized popular tales.
Brussels Vocal Project have performed their repertoire in many concert halls and venues in Belgium, Germany and Finland. They have also been called on numerous occasions to collaborate with bands such as David Linx and Diederik Wissels, Wildbirds and Peacedrums, and for different major events like the Magritte awards for cinema and the Floreales by the city of Brussels.
