Serge Lazarevitch

From 1975 to 1979, he studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. During this time, he played with various local bands and met Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, and Bill Frisell. After returning to Europe in 1979, he settled in Belgium, taught at the Liège Conservatory, and participated in the Belgian jazz scene alongside Ch. Loos, M. Herr, J. Pelzer, S. Houben, and others. In 1981, he returned to Paris and performed with numerous French and international musicians. From 1989 to 1991, he was the guitarist for the Orchestre National de Jazz, directed by Cl. Barthélémy. He led his own formations (Trio & Quintet), with which he made several recordings praised by the press. He participated in many groups and was once again a member of the O.N.J. under the direction of D. Levallet from 1997 to 2000. At the same time, he was the coordinator of the Jazz departments at the C.R.R. of Perpignan (1988-2010) (holding a Jazz teaching certificate since 1987) and the CRR of Montpellier (2010-2024), and he also led workshops in Europe and Africa.
