Tom Bourgeois is a saxophonist, clarinettist, and composer, trained at ENM Villeurbanne and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. Influenced by Diederik Wissels, his music blends modern jazz with contemporary techniques. He has composed over twenty film soundtracks, collaborating with Belgian director Maxime Coton on films such as La mécanique des corps (2011) and Après l'Usine (2019), as well as the web series Virages (2020) for RTBF. A laureate of the Trio 2019 scheme, he has also released two solo piano collections, Septembre (2016) and Archipel (2020), performed by Lena Kollmeier. As a versatile musician, Tom composes across various styles, performing as a sideman in groups like Odil, Vestige, and Jelle Van Giel Group. In 2016, he formed Murmures, an acoustic quartet that released multiple albums, including a 2022 double-album on Neuklang Records. His first solo album, Solos, came out in 2022, alongside projects with Moanin’ Birds and Vestige. In 2023, he founded a jazz quartet dedicated to Lili Boulanger, featuring Veronika Harcsa and Vincent Courtois. Their album Lili will be released in 2025 on Igloo Records. Also in 2025, Moanin’ Birds and Vestige will release second albums, with an Asia tour planned for autumn. Tom continues to innovate, performing worldwide and expanding his musical language.
